Happy Halloween from True Botanica

Welcome to the Neighborhood

Look what we spotted across the street!

We spotted these two birds hanging out across from the True Botanica office.
We hope they enjoyed their visit.

True Botanica Chili Cookoff!

Today we had the first ever True Botanica Chili Cookoff! Three TB coworkers brought in their special batches of chili. What made it so great? Each of the batches were very different from the others.

PhiliaPhilia's Chili
My chili is a little different than one might expect-it is called ‘white chili’. Made with three different kind of beans (cannellini, navy, and garbanzo beans) shredded chicken, fire roasted green peppers, and fresh herbs from the garden like oregano, basil and parsley. I made honey cornbread muffins made with local honey to go with it.

HeidiHeidi's Chili
Mine was your traditional ground beef Chili with diced tomatoes, black and kidney beans, red pepper, celery seed, plenty of onions, garlic, and 1 small Jalapeño (because I’m a chicken when it comes to spicy food).  This recipe is extra delicious with cheese and a healthy serving of sour cream.

AlyssaAlyssa's Chili
I made a basic recipe using mild, medium and hot beans, diced tomatoes, ground turkey and a blend of various spices (including the True Life Coarse Pepper). I also brought macaroni noodles and Fritos corn chips in to add on top (with lots of cheese and sour cream of course).

So, any guesses on who was chosen as the winner? Well of course it was a tie because all three were so different it was difficult to choose just one! Plus, it was great just to take time out of our busy day to sit down and enjoy a lunch together as a team.

Do you have a special recipe you’d like to share? If so, post it or email info@truebotanica.com.

Happy cooking!

National Chili Month!

October is National Chili Month and since we here at True Botanica love chili, we were hoping you would share your favorite recipes! One lucky winner will receive a True Life Sea Salt and Pepper combo gift! Simply send your favorite chili recipe to info@truebotanica.com. We’ll be sure to share the recipes with you next week!

You also don’t want to miss True Botanica’s very own chili cookoff! Next week all of the coworkers will bring in a pot of their finest chili and vote on who is the chili champion!

Be sure to check back for details.
