Finally!

What your Feet have been waiting for

A New Refreshing Food Cream

- With menthol, peppermint, incredibly natural oils, unique gem stone derived trace minerals and more! -

(If we hadn’t made an equally beautiful cream for the upper part of the body, your face would surely envy the feet.)

Refreshing Foot Cream

Feeling refreshed, feeling smooth…

Do you prefer dry, scaly skin on your feet, or a smooth and velvety feeling? Do you prefer a tired, exhausted feeling before you go to sleep, or a new stream of well being to help you let go of the day’s stress? Do you prefer to start the day “with lead in your feet,” or with a lightness that makes you think you have wings by your ankles? You don’t have to answer –we think we know the answer!

 Feeling healthier…

The feet deserve a much higher amount of attention than they get. After all, we carry our entire body weight on them. We have known for centuries that the whole body, with every single organ, is mapped on the soles of the feet. A treatment that pays attention to this detail is called foot reflexology. You can have your very own treatment every day by applying it on your feet and ankles and gently massaging it in. Since we have added boswellia, curcumin oils and gem stone derived minerals (of the kind that are particularly important to the feet), much needed energy is attracted now to that area of your body.

This treatment is particularly important to all those whose jobs force them to stand on their feet a lot. But those sitting in front of computers all day will benefit too. During sedentary times, blood pools into the lower legs, increasing the discomfort associated with increased fluid in the lower legs. Try this for a while: massage the feet every morning and evening and compare the difference to before. By the way, massage your feet (and calves) even more frequently if you have to travel longer distances and really cannot move freely.

I wonder if one can put it this way: taking care of the face is 80% cosmetic and 20% health. Taking care of the feet is 80% health but also 20% cosmetic.

Today we had the first ever True Botanica Chili Cookoff! Three TB coworkers brought in their special batches of chili. What made it so great? Each of the batches were very different from the others.

Philia, Heidi and Alyssa in aprons

Philia, Heidi and Alyssa in the colorful aprons Heidi brought in for the three chefs to wear!

PhiliaPhilia's Chili
My chili is a little different than one might expect-it is called ‘white chili’. Made with three different kind of beans (cannellini, navy, and garbanzo beans) shredded chicken, fire roasted green peppers, and fresh herbs from the garden like oregano, basil and parsley. I made honey cornbread muffins made with local honey to go with it.

HeidiHeidi's Chili
Mine was your traditional ground beef Chili with diced tomatoes, black and kidney beans, red pepper, celery seed, plenty of onions, garlic, and 1 small Jalapeño (because I’m a chicken when it comes to spicy food).  This recipe is extra delicious with cheese and a healthy serving of sour cream.

AlyssaAlyssa's Chili
I made a basic recipe using mild, medium and hot beans, diced tomatoes, ground turkey and a blend of various spices (including the True Life Coarse Pepper). I also brought macaroni noodles and Fritos corn chips in to add on top (with lots of cheese and sour cream of course).

So, any guesses on who was chosen as the winner? Well of course it was a tie because all three were so different it was difficult to choose just one! Plus, it was great just to take time out of our busy day to sit down and enjoy a lunch together as a team.

Do you have a special recipe you’d like to share? If so, post it or email info@truebotanica.com.

Happy cooking!

With the Olympics in full swing, athletes from all over the world are battling to win the gold medal! But did you know about the spiritual healing qualities of gold (Latin, Aurum)? Check out this post from the archives to learn more (originally posted March 15, 2012):

What’s With All the Gold?

Gold (Latin, Aurum) is a mysterious substance. The medieval alchemists recognized already that due to its special stability it was nearly impossible to “destroy” it. Gold does not combine readily with any other substance. It is very “happy in itself.”

Rudolf Steiner confirmed through his spiritual scientific research what the ancient sages also knew, that various metals are corresponding in their energies to the spiritual forces of the various planets. Gold is a perfect picture of the Sun!

From a spiritual healing point of view gold has certain immense qualities. It can help make us more “luminous, give us a more sunny disposition,” and more. Another one is its ability to draw our thoughts deeper into the soul life and make them more “available” to us. In other words we can think better when we take a small dose of highly diluted gold!

Diluted, rhythmically potentized gold always has a balancing, equilibrating effect on all three of body, soul and spirit.

Additional uses of the diluted forms of gold can be found on our website.

(Please keep in mind that we are referring here strictly to rhythmically potentized or diluted gold not the concentrated forms used occasionally in mainstream medicine f. ex. for the treatment of arthritis.)

One True Botanica coworker traveled throughout Wisconsin this weekend and had quite the adventure. Read on to hear about her trip, including the special plant she stumbled upon.

This past Sunday, my fiancé Luke and I had a 3 hour drive ahead of us and all day with which to do it.  Instead of taking the freeway, we bought a Wisconsin highway map and opted for a little backroads adventure.  We saw some bizarre yard decorations, beautiful scenery, and loads of cows that we wouldn’t have otherwise seen.  I also saw tons of Angelica growing along the roadsides, right at its peak in the growing season, so I couldn’t resist stopping to get a few photos.  It is truly a breathtaking plant, and I hope that you enjoy the pictures!

This week we made a fresh batch of Real Arnica Ultra Cream and it reminded us of an article Dr. Rentea wrote. Check it out and let us know your thoughts!

My Cell Phone and Arnica!

I was standing in the midst of hundreds of acres of beautiful Biodynamic farms, with the only sound coming from buzzing summer insects, when… my cell phone went off – with a call from 200 miles away. That’s when it struck me! What unimaginable electromagnetic waves we must be exposed to every day if we are “reachable” even when no physical means of contact are visible. Any wonder that we feel constantly on sensory overload? The thought then followed that we need to strengthen our periphery even more than I believed was necessary, to withstand the visible – and invisible –  onslaught against our senses, on our periphery.

If I would have to pick one, just one, great thing that I have seen people do who want to maintain a better health in this regard it is to add a nutritional supplement containing berberine to the rest of the proper diet and life style changes. This natural plant extract obtained from herbs like barberry, goldenseal and others has nearly miraculous properties at many levels. Before you take it though make sure you use a full spectrum high quality formula.

*This week we are participating in Diabetes Blog Week to discuss and bring awareness to the topic of diabetes. Today’s topic was to discuss one thing those with diabetes do “spectacularly” to maintain their health.
