A Healthy Twist for your Super Bowl Game Day

With the Super Bowl taking place this weekend, we decided to ask YOU for some of your favorite Game Day recipes for a chance to win a FREE True Life Pepper. One True Botanica follower, Elizabeth, sent in this delicious and healthy recipe. Consider trying our True Life Sea Salt and Pepper for extra flavor and nutrients!  Sea Salt and Pepper

You will need:
1 Large Head of Cabbage
1.5 Pounds Of Ground Turkey
1 Red Bell Pepper, 1 Green Bell Pepper
1 Small Onion
Salt and Pepper, Garlic Salt

Core the cabbage and boil the whole head for 3-5 minutes. While that is boiling cook the ground turkey until brown. Chop the bell peppers and onions in small pieces. Then add to the ground turkey when its cooked. Add the white rice after that and mix well. Add the salt, pepper, and garlic salt. When the cabbage is finished take a piece off and add a couple of spoon fulls of the mixture. Wrap up and repeat. Put in a pan and cook 350 degrees until a little brown. You can also add your favorite spaghetti sauce on top for a yummy finish! Enjoy!!

True Botanica Chili Cookoff!

Today we had the first ever True Botanica Chili Cookoff! Three TB coworkers brought in their special batches of chili. What made it so great? Each of the batches were very different from the others.

PhiliaPhilia's Chili
My chili is a little different than one might expect-it is called ‘white chili’. Made with three different kind of beans (cannellini, navy, and garbanzo beans) shredded chicken, fire roasted green peppers, and fresh herbs from the garden like oregano, basil and parsley. I made honey cornbread muffins made with local honey to go with it.

HeidiHeidi's Chili
Mine was your traditional ground beef Chili with diced tomatoes, black and kidney beans, red pepper, celery seed, plenty of onions, garlic, and 1 small Jalapeño (because I’m a chicken when it comes to spicy food).  This recipe is extra delicious with cheese and a healthy serving of sour cream.

AlyssaAlyssa's Chili
I made a basic recipe using mild, medium and hot beans, diced tomatoes, ground turkey and a blend of various spices (including the True Life Coarse Pepper). I also brought macaroni noodles and Fritos corn chips in to add on top (with lots of cheese and sour cream of course).

So, any guesses on who was chosen as the winner? Well of course it was a tie because all three were so different it was difficult to choose just one! Plus, it was great just to take time out of our busy day to sit down and enjoy a lunch together as a team.
